A tournament that has more than one table of players. Each table typically seats 9 or 10 players. As players are eliminated tables are consolidated order to balance the number of players at each table. The tournament ends when one person has won all the chips. Multi-table tournaments often have several hundred players, and can have (in the case of the WSOP main event or an online tournament) several thousand players. These tournaments typically play the top 10% of the field with the top 3 spots getting the biggest payouts
