DAY 1 - SESSION 1:

ADVANCED FIRST-IN STRATEGY

Specificity is essential to expert decision-making. In this session we will take a deep dive into preflop range construction and detail how to adjust first-in ranges based on each position at the table.

You’ve likely heard the saying “fight fire with fire”, however it’s not always prudent to play back at an aggressive opponent by betting or raising.  In this section we make sure your energy is directed appropriately and give you concrete methodology to quickly decide the best course of action.

Masters of Tournament Poker do not sit around and wait for good cards. They are constantly looking for spots to put pressure on opponents and accumulate chips without showing down a hand.

It’s time to test your knowledge and reinforce the new pieces of your game plan. We’ll go through a series of simulation hands specifically designed to focus on the new preflop concepts you learned.

Now is your chance to clarify the Preflop gameplan you just learned. The key to growth in No-Limit Hold’em is to never stop learning. Start your cycle of constant improvement during this session and ask questions while also listening to the questions from fellow students.

To the casual observer (or even some regular players) most hands of No-Limit Texas Hold’Em appear simple to discern. A player raises, gets a few callers, then bets the flop and takes it down. In this session we’ll prove just how incorrect this assumption is and alter your perceptions of what specific flop textures mean in concert with positional ranges and opponent actions.

Postflop play is where the most challenging decisions are made in a No-Limit Hold’em Tournament. Building on solid preflop foundations is essential to an unexploitable strategy, and during this session that’s just what we’ll do. Utilizing your new knowledge of preflop strategies we’ll provide you an expanded tool kit of tactics to account for the wide variety of players you are likely to face in any given tournament.

We’ve tackled preflop and postflop play, now it’s time to dive into the strategies that could mean the difference between being someone who just ran deep, and a Champion!  Heads-up play presents several unique challenges and is often played under severe pressure after a long day (or several days of play).

At the end of two information-packed days, you will undoubtedly have questions about everything we’ve learned during the weekend. During this session is your time to ask questions about the strategies we’ve discussed.
