Johan Schultz-Pedersen is a rising force in the poker world, powered by his dedicated study and passion for analysis. While still very young in life, Johan is a seasoned veteran of online poker having racked up over $1M in cashes during his short career. Playing in the hyper competitive international online poker scene, he has amassed an impressive tally including a victory in the $1,050 buy-in $150K GTD on PartyPoker for $43,428. While online poker has been the focus early in his career, Johan has also showcased his skills in live poker. His first WSOP cash in 2022 was a deep run in the traditionally stacked field of the $5K 6-Max No-Limit Hold'em event with a 24th place finish. Starting off 2023 Johan took home €144,300 for his deep run in the 2023 PokerStars EPT Paris €5K Main Event. In 2024 Johan officially cemented his name among the game’s best when he won his first WSOP Bracelet in the Online Colossus Event.
An extremely talented strategist, Johan is widely recognized by his peers and study partners (including LearnWPT’s Andrew “LuckyChewy” Lichtenberger) as the go-to resource for poker strategy tools and solver technology. His unique experience and knowledge of Game Theory Optimal (GTO) poker strategy have been a valuable asset in developing many of the training solutions currently available for the WPT GTO Trainer.
Johan began his poker career at 18 years of age in his home country of Denmark, and has since moved to Austria to play professionally. He is an extremely detailed strategic thinker who shares study circles with some of the game's greats. Johan is a true student of the game, constantly immersing himself in the newest study tools and technologies. When he’s not playing or grinding solves in search of the fine edges, you’ll often find Johan showcasing his unique sense of humor and keeping the team on their toes with his pranks.
