AK on the BB with about 30BB. Tournie, 20 min levels about 25 players left - its a super satellite so final table (10) all get entry for a 150k tournie (regular price $800).
MP shoves with 14 BB action back to me. I didnt think too much about it - called my AK based on what I perceived was a wide range shove.
MP had KT Suited( im ahead 70/30 ) and he paired the T on the river. I was chopped 45% of my stack and never recovered.
Could this have been a case where I should consider folding AK given the overall situation?( my stack vs his stack, position in the tournie, chip value, actual possible range, etc?).
Part 2 - just played another tournie and got busted right at the bubble Q10 suited MP shoved 8 BB and ran into 66 basically a coinflip and lost.
These are two of a few other situations where
Ive either busted or had my stack significantly chopped right before or at the bubble. It seems these types pf situations are in a “make or break” critical junction of the torunie where a major chop basically kills your chances. Should I tighten up ranges as I get closer to a final table in order to avoid coinflips and/or unfortunate situations like the KT? Or are all these just bad beats/unlucky situations im going to encunter no matter what ?
Thanks
