Calling/folding on money bubble

  • Zippy (Illinois)

I was in a recent tournament on the money bubble it was six handed and I was in the big blind with 10 big blinds. The player first to act had 9 1/2 big blinds and he shoved all in. I am familiar with this player and I had him on a range of a pair of sixes and better any ace suited or off suit and bigger Broadway cards King Jack and better . I had Ace Queen suited, so I called him and he had pocket eights and I lost. I believe I made the right call, but my question is the player in the cut off position had five big blinds and was the shortest stack at the table . I have to admit, I like the feeling of cashing! Knowing that the cut off player was the shortest stack , should I have still made that call?
