Hello,
Would you please clarify the concept of over betting vs. capped ranges (episode 267)? I understand the situations in which you recommend this strategy, basically coming down to the fact that as the hand plays out, it becomes apparent that our opponent cannot have the best hand and we can. In the example on the video, we defended our big blind heads-up against a button raise. We flopped top pair, top kicker & villain's check on the turn indicated that we in effect had the nuts. So in this situation, would we usually expect our opponent to fold to our over bet on the river?
If our opponent is usually going to fold to an over bet in this situation, would this strategy be much more profitable when we are bluffing? So,I guess the most important question is whether we should almost always over bet when our opponent has a capped range & our range is uncapped, regardless of the actual strength of our hand? This seems like it could have significant implications in terms of countering our opponents' C-bets.
thanks for your help!
