Eric: I am trying to delve deeper into some hands using software such as Flopzilla and PioSolver. I'd like to ask about the hand in Episode 97 where the recommendation is to check behind in position as the preflop aggressor vs a tight OOP blind player who calls a BTN raise after a loose CO limp preflop.
Reminder of hand: 10/20 cash game, Effective stacks between players = 110BB
Hero dealt AdQh preflop; bad/loose CO limps 1BB, Hero on BTN raises to 5BB, tight SB player who rarely calls in this spot does call, CO folds.
Flop: Th9h8c ... OOP player checks... what should Hero do?
I won't go into the Turn, as both Flopzilla and PioSolver agree that Hero should fold once Villain bets out when the Qs hits (even though Hero has TPTK), which of course, is a nice lesson to take away vs only one street of betting
However, when I run the flop scenario through PioSolver, which is supposed to give GTO recommendations to my understanding, it is telling me that Hero should be c-betting with AQo virtually 100% of the time after the preflop aggressor bets out. I ran this scenario using various Villain ranges to include as tight and strong as TT+/AQ+ and as wide as 77-QQ/ABC.
Note: Piosolver does say to not cbet hands A9o and lower and most ATs and lower (except of course Ah8h-AhTh)
So... in my poker learning taking this extra step, what advice to you have as far as juggling this difference (Piosolver saying c-bet, LearnWPT recommending a check)?
