Even pot odds

  • westhian (San Diego)

I made the continuation raise after being the pre-flop aggressor. I was re-raised by the button, and I feel that the pot odds were not compelling enough to continue in the hand. I figured I had about a 20% chance of hitting the flush (9 outs times 2) and needed better than 4:1 pot odds to do that. It was almost exactly 4:1 to call, which is a coin flip as I understand it, so I did not call. Did I make the more profitable decision by folding and not getting more chips in the middle, or was continuing at even odds better than letting that pot go? Thank you!
