Folded AK preflop; was I disciplined or a wimp?

The game is 9 handed 1-3. Villain (a TP regular) is utg; hero is utg+1. The effective stack is $500. Hero has AK.

Villain raises to $15.The range of hands I put Villain on was QQ+. (I have never seen him raise with JJ- or AQ+.) Hero tanked. My thought process was: I cannot call; I can raise. I decided against raising, and folded.
