Gone too far or playing to win?

  • Gil T (Kingston, NY)

Here I had a completely limped 10-handed table and I was the table chip leader and decided to make a significant raise out of the big blind.  I got 8 folds and one caller. The pot was huge so I c-bet and got called.  I checked the turn with the intention of check raising all-in but the villain checked back. I then made a significant bet on the river and he folded and I more than doubled my stack going into Day 2. What are your thoughts here? After making the decision to raise preflop, did I play the hand correctly to ensure that I won this pot and more than doubled my stack. Thanks much for your feedback. Gil
