really lost on how I should have played this hand;

with a 3 bet in front of me from a big stack I decided to call the 3 bet; was that wrong? After I called with that flop I bet into two players; one folded the other 3 better just called; with the  2 hitting the turn I checked and called a small bet; with a 3 on the river I checked again and then had another decision on a small bet (compared to the flop); do I push call or fold; I decided to call; he had quads (AJ) but I still had chips and had a huge come back in the tournament; but how should I have played this?
