River decision with 2nd nut hand against an all-in bet

The river comes and I make the second nut straight.  I am first to act and check trying to induce a bet and I get one and then the last guy shoves for all his chips.  There is no money in the pot and I am thinking he has a 10 and we are chopping - but he puts in a huge raise and maybe he has q-10 and I am beat.  My thoughts were I have to put in $124 for a chop of $24 but could lose $124 if he has the nuts.  I folded on the river. Am I seeing monsters under the bed here. Did I make a bad fold here. I have no info on the player who made the huge shove.  Never played with him before.
