Backdoor Equity
When a Player has a chance to make a strong hand by hitting two consecutive cards on both the turn and the river. This is often referred to as "backdoor" because the player did not have a direct or obvious way to make the hand on the flop, but instead has a chance to make it through an indirect route on the turn and river. Example: You hold 7d8d and the flop comes 9hKd2c. The turn is the Jd you now have an open-ended straight draw and a flush draw. The river is the 10d, you hit both the straight and flush to make a very strong hand.
