A five card poker hand with 3 cards of the same rank plus 2 non matching cards of a different rank . In the event two players have 3 of a kind the player with highest ranking 3 of a kind is the winner. Players can make 3 of a kind using 2, 1, or no hole cards (3 of the community cards can be of the same rank).
