Brian Altman or “Alty” as he is known by fellow rounders on the virtual and live poker felt, is universally considered to be one of the greatest tournament players in the world. Brian’s career spans over a decade and includes $6.5 million in worldwide tournament earnings in live poker alone, with $2.8 million of those winnings from the World Poker Tour. And most recently taking down the 2022 Seminole Hard Rock High Roller event for $690K. Brian became enthralled with poker and ended up moving to Montreal to play professional online poker after the events of Black Friday. For more than a decade Brian has been traveling the world focused on live poker, with incredible results.
As a 3x World Poker Tour Champion, historic WPT back to back win, and the Season XVIII Player of the Year, Brian has demonstrated a level of consistency and execution in the most high pressure spots that is seldom matched by his peers. Before his ascent into the WPT record books, Brian cemented his legacy as an elite online poker player by winning the prestigious Pokerstars Yearly Tournament Leaderboard in 2010. As Lead Instructor for LearnWPT, Nick Binger understands the game of poker evolves and the players who win consistently can only do so because of their commitment to continuously improving their games. Nick began his poker journey online and quickly became a force at both the Cash Game and Tournament tables. He soon transitioned to the live arena, winning several high profile events, including a WSOP bracelet in 2011. Nick recently won his second bracelet during the 2020 WSOP when he outlasted a massive 2,408 entry field.
Nick is not only passionate about being a winning poker player, he has spent years perfecting his poker instruction skills and has taught thousands of players how to win. Over the course of his teaching career, Nick developed a comprehensive method for improving the games of others, no matter their skill level or experience. No matter how long you've been playing poker or where you are in your development, Nick can take you to the next level.
Tony Dunst, a high-stakes pro and one of the most unique personalities in the poker industry, joined the World Poker Tour as host of the WPT Raw Deal segment and spent seven seasons analyzing some of the most pivotal hands from World Poker Tour events. When Mike Sexton announced his retirement from the WPT commentary booth, it was only natural for Tony to be promoted into the role starting with Season XVI.
Tony was able to etch his name on the WPT Champions Cup, winning WPT Caribbean and in 2016 added another marquee title to his poker resume when he won a WSOP gold bracelet. Tony won his second WSOP bracelet in 2020 and his first WSOP Circuit Ring in 2021 adding to his long list of accomplishments. He has written articles on dozens of topics both within and outside of poker. With his candor and over-sized personality, Tony quickly developed a loyal following of fans, becoming a lightning rod in the poker community.
Michael Gagliano, also known by his online screen name Gags30, has been playing poker professionally for more than 15 years while also helping students achieve their goals as a coach for almost a decade. He began playing online with low stakes sit and go’s and multi-table tournaments before moving into high stakes online MTTs. After much success, Michael broadened his focus to include online and live cash games.
After crushing the online felt, Michael successfully transitioned into the live poker arena in 2011 with multiple top 3 finishes in high profile tournaments including WSOP Bracelet events, multiple Borgata Poker Opens, and 5th in WPT Prague. Michael won his 1st World Series of Poker Bracelet in 2016 after qualifying online outlasting a field of over 1000 players for a $448K first prize. Michael has been a staple in the East Coast scene, an active ambassador for partypoker US Network and Borgata Poker, and also serves as a consultant for major online poker sites to help improve their product as well as being a fierce advocate for the player.
Andrew Lichtenberger aka "LuckyChewy" is one of the best all-around poker players in the game today. Prior to becoming a household name, “LuckyChewy” played successfully online before bursting onto the live tournament circuit by making headlines in April 2009 when he finished 13th in the $25,000 World Poker Tour Championship event. He’s reached six WSOP final tables, is the winner of the prestigious $100,000 buy-in WPT Alpha8 Las Vegas, placed 3rd in the largest ever WPT 10K Five Diamond WPT Main Event, and placed 3rd in the 2020 WSOP Main Event. And most recently taking down the 2022 Seminole Hard Rock High Roller event for $630K.
Andrew enjoys a healthy diet and meditative approach to more deeply experience the present moment in life in order to improve himself both as a person and to become a better poker player. He is a big believer in measuring personal success against itself and focusing on the process of progress as opposed to comparing your success to the success of others. Andrew’s positive mentality and his ability to dominate both tournaments and cash games, makes him among one of the most feared and inspiring players in the game today.
Known in cyberspace as "Rizen", Eric Lynch's internet poker career took off when he won the PokerStars Million Dollar Guaranteed Tournament in May 2006 and took the prestigious Tournament Leader Board award for that month. Eric has made over 300 Final Tables in high profile online and WSOP tournaments including placing 3rd in a Pot Limit WSOP Event in 2006. He also excels at the cash game tables, having logged thousands of profitable hours both live and online.
Eric has had the privilege of helping hundreds of students from all skill levels grow into successful players during the past 10 years teaching alongside Nick Binger for the World Poker Tour. Ask any of his students what separates Eric from other poker instructors and they’ll say it is his ability to make the game more understandable for all players.
Vanessa Selbst is one of the most accomplished and respected poker players in the world. Getting her start playing in online and live NLHE and PLO games, Vanessa quickly rose through the ranks of poker. Bursting onto the live tournament scene in 2006, Vanessa soon received her first WSOP gold bracelet in 2008. Vanessa earned her first 7 figure cash in 2010 as the victor of the Partouche Poker Tour Main Event in Cannes and continued to dominate tournament fields including winning two more WSOP bracelets, multiple WPT Final Table appearances, and too many top 5 cashes to count.
Vanessa’s dominance and dedication to her craft helped enshrine her in the status of the most successful and highest earning female poker player of all time. Vanessa has over 10 years of teaching experience and has coached some of the top poker players in the game today. Her incisive thinking makes her both a formidable opponent at the table and an enormous asset to her students.
Katie Stone has been a professional poker player for over 15 years. After forging her analytical skills through success in competitive chess, Katie dove head first in the poker world starting her career in 2005. Katie saw great success online playing tournaments full time through 2011 until the unfortunate events of “Black Friday” forced a change of course - move to Las Vegas to focus on live poker.
In early 2011 Katie co-founded the Grindettes with professional poker players Katie Dozier, Jamie Kerstetter, Jennifer Shahade to help bring awareness to women playing online poker. Coming full circle in 2018, Katie moved to New Jersey and became a Team Pro for Borgata Poker and partypoker US Network. Katie won her 1st WSOP Circuit ring in 2018 and followed that up by adding a 2nd Circuit ring in 2021. Katie hosts the Play Better Poker with LearnWPT Live Stream and provides a place for players of all levels to learn together. Her skill as a player and desire to constantly improve are only matched by her fierce advocacy for the game.
Jared Tendler earned a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology and attained a license as a Mental Health Counselor prior to becoming a mental game coach in 2005. With over sixteen years of experience coaching people from around the world and in multiple arenas, including institutional and individual traders, PGA Tour players, entrepreneurs, and world champion poker players, his straightforward and logical approach has been proven to help people solve their mental game problems and perform at their highest levels.
Jared is the author of two highly acclaimed books, The Mental Game of Poker 1 & 2 and The Mental Game of Trading. He is also the host of the popular podcast The Mental Game and previously served as Head of Sport Psychology for for the eSport organization Team Liquid. Jared provides LearnWPT Members with essential strategies for maintaining peak performance through Strategy Episodes.
