exploitive play; but I was wrong

  • Tim (Boca Raton, Fl)

All in the money;  36 players left; villians stack went up and down; I observed he twice bet very heavy on the river and was caught with total air that missed draws;  most of the time he would bet small on streets and then heavy on the river and players would fold and he kept getting his stack back without showing; I was hoping I could catch him if I hit a real hand; I knew with that flop that he could have the TJ; but I had the T blocker which affected my thoghts; when he did not bet preflop I did not put him on an ACE; and of course did not put him on 2 broadway cards or on a set or AK; and thought my hand was maybe good with the one K and 10 kicker; when he called the turn small bet I put him on a gutshot draw, or Qx or Kx, or maybe a spade flush draw; when the 3rd K hit I thought he was maybe bluffing that he had hit the K or his Kx was lower than my K 10; and because he missed a straight draw and/or missed the flush draw if he had that and that he rerasied me thinking I would fold; or maybe he had hit 2 pair like Q8 or Q9; so I jammed; and was out of the tournament; in reflection; think I should of just called his river raise and been on the safer side; dont think I could fold with this player; please advise; thanks, Tim
