Push fold when almost everybody is short

  • Navid (pelotas)

I'm playing daily SNGs to put myself into situations more similar to final tables more frequently ( is it a good idea? )

It helps me to practice short stack push fold charts more frequently as well.

When the blinds go up and up sometimes it happens that most of players get short stacked and there is only one or two medium or large stack players at the table.

My question is, should I continue playing the charts in this situation?

An example:

There are 6 players on the table:

I have A4s with 10BB on the high jack = UTG+1

UTG folds, action is on me, there are 4 players behind, cut off has 22 BB and the others all have less than 10BB

According to the charts I went all in and cut off called, others folded he had AK

Board: A77 J 4 rainbow

What if when it's 3 handed or heads up and stacks are balanced around 10BB each.

Should I go all in with all those wide ranges of hands?

I used to min-raise with almost any two cards in these situations because I thought when there are only two players it's more likely they don't have good cards and I could make them fold and if I had faced a raise (all in) I would have folded and if I had good cards I would call. So I had the chance to accumulate chips with my bad cards without risking my whole stack on the other hand with my good cards, it was possible to make them call with the hands they would have folded if I had gone all in.
