Shove with small pair at final table

  • VinnieX (Ashburn, VA)

I believe the push shove charts says to shove with most pairs when short stacked and I certainly got lucky in the hand provided.  However, with only 6 players remaining and only the top 3 players win anything, should I have played more conservatively and simply folded my 22 from under the gun?

I did this is another tournament, when there were only three players remaining (one big stack and me and the other were short), and I shoved with my 22 against the other short stack.  Only the top two won this satellite tournament, so I was essentially betting my tournament life on 22, though I had him covered slightly.  this time he folded.  but in my post analysis, I believe this may be the wrong play when short handed at a final table.

I don't want to played scared and wind up blinding off, but I also don't want to make aggressive plays with weaks hands ... do I?
